Hair Treatment – II

Hot Oil Treatment

This is usually done to introduce moisture into your hair and also to retain moisture. It can typically be done with one product with oil or oils (of your choice) as the main ingredient (s).

I do them occasionally when but no commitment to this either. My experience: it leaves my hair shining and moisturized for a couple of days. It helps if you can try

What to use:

  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Tea tree oil
  • Castor oil &
  • Some almond oil if I have it

How to:

Clay mask with Aztec

I did this once. Didn’t have time to do it plus it’s a little messy

Didn’t see any major change

Clarification:

Leave-in conditioner

Yes, it provides additional moisture and seals moisture

Type of leave-in to use depends on your need-growth, moisture, length retention, etc so choose wisely

Understanding your hair type becomes necessary at this point

For eg. the type of leave in conditioner will vary from someone with fine hair than one with thick coils hair

Thick – thick and creamy

Fine hair – light weight

Experiment with a few but please don’t buy the entire store haha

Good ones

Shea moisture

Mielle organics hair milk

I currently use the mane choice 3-1

Others go with the non-traditional kind

Aloe juice

Coconut oil

Warm water

When should I apply leave in conditioner?

Recommended right after you rinse out your conditioner. If you don’t have time immediately and have to apply later try to apply warm water mist or aloe juice before applying the leave in. I’ve done applications without it too.

Seal in moisture with cream like Shea butter and oil like coconut or extra virgin olive oil

Clay mask with Aztec

Chebe powder

I did this once. Didn’t have time to do it plus it’s a little messy

Didn’t see any major change
